My current ride weighs more than half a ton more than your two light cares combined. Its the lighter of my 2 cars. I lose. Lightest I’ve owned was a Gen 1 rav4. They weighed a touch under 2800.

I think my S3 is about 3450lbs, so not too porky. My wife’s Sorento is about 4000lbs . The lightest car I’ve ever owned was my NC Miata at about 2500lbs. Really no clue on the lightest I’ve ever driven - maybe the ND Miata ?

I think I test drove a Festiva once (I honestly can’t remember anything other than getting the carbed engine to fire) , so that or an Aveo would be the lightest for me.

Lightest car I’ve driven? Me-thinks my dads 1980's VW Rabbit Diesel at ~1,750 pounds. That’s at least the lightest I can remember.

I have a 1985 Nissan 720 which weighs in at a whopping 2,560 lbs.

1987 El Camino is 3300 lbs

2008 Volvo C30 is about 3,000 lbs

2018 Marin Nicasio RC is about 31 lbs

1979 Tripp Angler is about 5,500 pounds with the diesel engine.

The lightest I own is my wife’s Matrix which is just under 3000 lbs (the ‘69 vette is a close second at just over 3000 lbs)

The lightest I’ve driven not including motorcycles is my Geo Metro at 1585 lbs

Coupes in general actually can weigh more. The C63S AMG coupe weighs more than its sedan counterpart :P

I got to “drive” the 1903 Packard Grey Wolf racecar when I worked at the Packard Museum in Dayton, Ohio while I was in college.

We needed to move it between buildings, and I was the smallest person in the group, so I had to ride along and steer while holding the clutch in as the car was in need of some restoration and would not shift out of gear, nor did it run.

My 1981 VW Scirocco S weighs 1,900 pounds without a driver. I think the light weight makes it more fun, because the 1.7L doesn’t make much power.

Well it has to be my 71 Z, I think they are 2300 from the factory. Mine could be a bit heavier since someone put a roll bar in it and I haven’t taken anything from it like ditching metal bumpers, fiberglass fenders and hood etc. Heaviest goes to my 52 Dodge at around 6k lbs.

Based on options my car should be around 2,400 lbs. Base model means it starts at 2,300 lbs but mine is optioned with a spare tire and a sunroof. So it's more than a base Cooper but less than a sunroof Cooper S which weighs just north of 2,500.

I own a Citroën Méhari. Unfortunately it has not been drivable for years. 570 kg according to Wikipedia.

I also own a Mk2 Mini 1275C. It’s supposedly lighter (620 kg) than a Mk3, but I have my doubts. On the other hand my first car was a Mk3 Cooper 1300 (640 kg) but it had no rear seats, no carpets, no roof lining, and no door cards or side trim. Never weighed it but it felt q u i t e lively.

I also own a BMW R65LS (205 kg).

Lightest I have driven would be an Exocet at 1,500 lbs. If you want to ignore streetability my schools FSAE car is 832 lbs. This years car is on target to be under 600 lbs which should be a complete riot.

I also got to drive a 1934 V12 Phaeton Sedan on several occasions. But that won’t win this contest. The engine block, just the block, no pistons or rotating assembly, weighed 1 ton. (That could be bunk, but I like it, so I’m going with it. )

Yeah, it was weird finding out a 1971 Camaro and a 2006 Mercury Mariner, two very dissimilar vehicles, weigh the same. It’s interesting to note that the Camaro is also longer and wider than the “family car”.

My first car was a ‘96 Geo Metro sedan, weighing in at 890kg/1, 960lbs. My current lightest (and also only) car is my 2000 528i with almost double the weight of the Geo, 1585kg/3, 500lbs.

My first car, porsche 944 weighed 2,601. B eat the mini by some 70 lbs. M y trans am also weighs 2,500 lbs, but it’s currently missing about 900 lbs of engine and transmission.

I should add, it’s quite amazing it can reach 60mph well below 5 seconds and does so with surprisingly little money spent in mods. In my case I’ve just done a tune (~$400) .

How are the brakes? I’ve discovered I don’t like fast cars that can’t stop(for obvious reasons) . My ISF is amazing around town but the Stinger was a bit scary.

We only own 1 car, so the lightest we own is the SQ5. Oddly, almost all the cars I’ve driven ring in around the 3500 lb mark, with the exception of SUVs, a Buick Roadmaster Wagon, and the R8.

EDIT: My father’s old ‘89 Accord is the lightest I’ve ever driven coming in somewhere around the 2700 lb mark.

The 924 says 2, 381 lbs, but that one is sold.

The Cobalt comes in at a hair under 3,000.

The 1950 F3 says 3915 (stock w/ 6cyl) the F2 (cab/chassis) shows 3415.

My ‘’99 F-150 comes in at 4709.

My ‘85 base model RX7 lists at about 2,350lb. It’s probably the lightest, unless a 1962 austin-healey sprite is less but I’m not sure. That one I don’t own but I have driven several times (it’s a friend’s) .

My current car is a whale, but a beast too. I have an E63s Estate that weighs nearly 4700 lbs. I have owned a 2006 Elise (2000-ish lbs ) and a Boxster Spyder (2800 lbs). Crazy to think that my wagon weighs about the same as both of them combined!

Another tuned SHO owner here, the braking is not bad on the 2013 and newer models, the ear lier ones has smaller rotors and were not very good.

My brakes are adequate, but not great and I’m sure in a track situation they’d fade very quickly. In everyday driving I’ve never been scared due to a lack of braking performance. I intend to upgrade them though next time they are due for replacement.

yeah, I may just price out something aftermarket. I do want to balance longevity and performance though. It is my daily after all.
